Even though some states have passed laws trying to prevent Obamacare from being deployed in their communities, others have embraced the law wholeheartedly.
According to a press release distributed today by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), eight more states are moving forward in the process to implement Obamacare:

(202) 690-6343States move forward to implement health care law, build health insurance marketplaces
Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today announced that more states are on track to implement the health care law and establish health insurance marketplaces, or Exchanges, in their states. California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Vermont and Utah are conditionally approved today to operate a State-based Exchange, and Arkansas is conditionally approved to operate a State Partnership Exchange. HHS is also providing more guidance to states today on marketplaces that will be operated in partnership with the federal government.
Today’s announcement brings the total number of states who are falling in line with Obamacare up to twenty. The other states include:
- Colorado
- Connecticut
- District of Columbia (Not a State)
- Kentucky
- Massachusetts
- Maryland
- Minnesota
- New York
- Oregon
- Rhode Island
- Washington
- Delaware
Just in case you think that your state will be the lucky one and not suffer from this encroachment of Federal power, think again. According the DHHS the process of setting up these exchanges in all 50 states will take ten months:
“States across the country are working to implement the health care law and build a marketplace that works for their residents,” said Secretary Sebelius. “In ten months, consumers in all fifty states will have access to a new marketplace where they will be able to easily purchase affordable, high quality health insurance plans, and today’s guidance will provide the information states need to guide their continued work.”
So it would seem that in less than a year there will be no place to hide from Obamacare.
That is… unless the President will be nice enough to inform us where those seven imaginary states are located that he referred to in 2008….. then again.. he will probably make them adopt Obamacare as well.
