On Friday NY Rep. Jose Serrano introduced House Joint Resoution 15 “Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”
In essence this would free up the U.S. Constitution so that President Obama could stay in office for good. A similar move was done my President Morsi of Egypt immediately after winning his election for President as well. This is a very odd and chilling coincidence.
It is also worth noting that next time someone tries to tell you that the Democratic Party is not the party of government control, point to this bill. I have never heard of a Republican pulling this kind of a seriously unconstitutional move, and if there was one, I’d love to see it.
