Unfortunately these facts have fallen on deaf ears at the Obama Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) who appear to believe that they know better than those of us who are sane. In fact, the EPA and the Obama Administration are so overrun with Global Warming Cult followers that they are willing to destroy the coal industry utilizing technology which doesn’t even exist.
According to an article on ECT.Com, the EPA has proposed a new rule which will ensure no new coal plants can be built in the United States because they do not have access to an imaginary technology :
Carbon dioxide standards as revised by the Environmental Protection Agency still “effectively eliminate new coal power plants as a future electric generation option,” NRECA CEO Jo Ann Emerson warned.
“The emissions standards require carbon capture and storage at new coal plants despite this technology not existing on a commercial scale at any power plant anywhere in the world,” she added. EPA’s new proposal takes “a reliable domestic fuel with a historically predictable cost off the table.”
NRECA is continuing to urge the administration to reconsider this proposal in light of its potential cost to rural communities.
“As not-for-profit, consumer-owned utilities, electric co-ops rely on a diverse fuel mix to provide affordable, reliable electricity to 42 million Americans. We believe strongly in our responsibility both to our environment and to members, who often serve some of the most economically vulnerable populations in this country,” Emerson said.
EPA’s proposed rule, published Jan. 8 in the Federal Register, is open for comment for 60 days and the subject of a public hearing at the agency’s Washington headquarters Jan. 28.
Why is the EPA doing this?
Because the Obama Administration has directed the EPA to combat Global Warming and according to an EPA document highlighting the reasons why they must reduce carbon output from power plants, there is nothing scarier to the Obama Administration than plant food (Aka CO2):
POWER PLANT CARBON POLLUTION IMPACTS PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT
• Carbon pollution stays in the atmosphere and contributes to climate change, which is one of the most significant public health challenges of our time.
• Unchecked carbon pollution leads to long-lasting changes in our climate, such as rising global temperatures; rising sea level; changes in weather and precipitation patterns; and changes in ecosystems, habitats and species diversity.
• Public health risks include more heat waves and drought; worsening smog (also called ground-level ozone pollution); increasing the intensity of extreme events, like hurricanes, extreme precipitation and flooding; an increasing the range of ticks and mosquitoes, which can spread disease such as Lyme disease and West Nile virus.
• Our most vulnerable citizens, including children, older adults, people with heart or lung disease and people living in poverty are most at risk from the impacts of climate change.
So as your electricity bill rises due to a lack of power plants just take comfort in knowing that while you may be paying ridiculous amounts of money for a little bit of electrical power… you are doing your part to fight an imaginary crisis invented by those who wish to control every aspect of your life.
Oh.. and I also heard that the EPA is going to ask Tinker Bell to sprinkle fairy dust in that hole in the Ozone layer … and that the Tooth Fairy now works for the IRS and has to steal from the rich to give to the poor.
Someone please wake me up from this nightmare created by fools before it’s too late… that is… if it isn’t too late already. Sheesh…
