Many Americans are angry at the fact that Obamacare, aka The Affordable Care Act, has cost them their employer based health coverage and/or has increased their insurance premiums to ridiculous levels. With many millions more slated to follow suit in the coming months, Obamacare has left Americans scratching their heads asking where is the “Affordable” in the “Affordable” Care Act?
Well according to an article on the Kansas Health Institute website, during a news conference promoting Medicaid Expansion in Kansas, White House Principle Press Secretary Josh Earnest stated that if the 24 States who rejected the Medicaid Expansion would now accept it, 8 in 10 of currently uninsured Americans could have “Affordable” healthcare either through Medicaid or Government subsidies:
White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the health reform law will make access to health insurance coverage available for less than $100 a month to six in 10 currently uninsured Americans.
If the 24 states, including Kansas, that have so far refused to expand Medicaid were to change their stances, that number would be eight in 10, he said.
“The 24 states that have blocked Medicaid expansion face a consequential choice: They can score short-term political points by attacking the Affordable Care Act and blocking Medicaid,” Earnest said. “Or they can take action to save taxpayer dollars and extend access to thousands of citizens to quality affordable health care.
White House Press Secretary Earnest is quoting from a report released by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)which states that:
A new report released today by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) shows that 56 percent, or nearly six in ten of the people who don’t have health insurance today may be able to get coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace for less than $100 per month.
Beginning on October 1, individuals and families will have a new way to shop for coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace. They’ll be able to compare their options using side-by-side information about price, quality and benefits. With one application they’ll be able to see if they qualify for premium tax credits or Medicaid that lower the costs of coverage right away.
“The health care law is making health insurance more affordable,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “With more than half of all uninsured Americans able to get coverage at $100 or less, the health care law is delivering the quality, affordable coverage people are looking for.”
It would seem that the Obama administration has finally admitted what this writer has known for a short while. The only “Affordable” Health insurance that Obamacare was designed to create is either Government run or Subsidized.
You see Obamacare was designed to mirror Canada’s transition from private insurance to single payer via the Medicaid Expansion. It was also designed to destroy the private health insurance industry by making private / employer based health coverage unaffordable by mandating it cover ridiculous things such as maternity care or OBGYN visits for men.
So as you become one of the millions of uninsured Americans thanks to Obamacare, take warmth in the knowledge that it was supposed to happen this way. Because for “Affordable”, Marxist inspired, single payer, Government run healthcare to come about… your employer based insurance, and the private health insurance industry, must die.
Ironically in order for Single Payer Healthcare to be affordable for all, the Death Panels in Obamacare dictate that if you’re too old and sick…. you must die too.
Ahh.. Marxism it’s not like it’s some failed concept which has been attempted someplace in the world before and cost millions of people their lives right?…. Right?
