As of late there have been a number of individuals, the President among them, who have declared an emergency. They have flooded the internet with righteous cries of outrage: “America has a gun problem!” they cry. “Americans need to submit to common sense gun laws!”
When someone blames an inanimate object for an evil act they are bestowing upon that object supernatural powers it does not possess. As if the object has the power to force its will upon the one who wields it. As if the object itself encompasses the evil inside of it instead of the human committing the act. This kind of reasoning is at the level of a small child who blames the cup they accidentally knocked off the table for breaking. Or blames the dog for the mess they themselves made on the floor. This type of reasoning is immature and irresponsible and isn’t something we tolerate even from our children. So why do we tolerate it from our elected officials and fellow Americans?
The Real Problem
But in all honesty our problems in America do not stem solely from this type of immature behavior. That is only a symptom. Sadly the disease America is suffering from is far more dangerous. Far more difficult to remove. Because over the last 50 plus years it has grown, like a cancer. It has infected millions with its tantalizing promises; its dazzling bull shit if you will. It says you can have everything at the cost of nothing. You can have all your dreams come true and see all of your enemies strewn on the ground before you. All you have to do is follow me, it cries. All you have to do is forget what being a real American actually means!
You see, America doesn’t have a gun problem. It has a Progressive problem.
There Is No Place Like U.S.
In order to truly understand my point you must understand America. The United States of America is The grand experiment. It is the first nation in the history of the world which was founded upon the principles of individual liberty. Its revolutionary founding document is a Constitution that devises a system designed to reign in government through checks and balances in the hopes of preventing tyranny, while at the same time ensuring the individual freedom of its people. This has never been done before. This is what makes The United States of America unique and superior to all other nations in the rest of the world. Period.
If you fail to understand this then I beg you to stop reading now. Because unless you grasp this one simple and indisputable fact then you will never understand the rest of my post. If that is truly the case, then I’m sorry. For you. But because I care about you, even if you are a freedom-challenged individual, might I suggest you move to Europe? There you will be among your people. Those who have descended from serfs and are willing to embrace monarchs, even today. Go in peace from us slavery-seeker, for you are not of our kind. Farewell.
Now if you are still reading, then good. I have some hope for you, and maybe even for our nation. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Now that you understand how unique of a nation we are and why, let’s explore how the Founders of this great nation planned for us to keep it that way.
Guns Are Power
I’ll tell you a little secret. Something the Founders understood and even Progressives understand. Violence, or the ability to commit large amount of violence in a small amount of time and/or at great distances, is power. In our world that power, at least on the level of an individual, is known as a firearm or gun. The ability of one individual to defend himself from threats, from either a tyrannical government or a home invasion, is of the utmost importance. Especially to an American.
Because our Founders secured this nation through violence and in so doing secured the liberty for future generations. And our nation’s Founders even enshrined that use of violence as a last resort in the defense of our liberty into the nation’s founding document. It’s known as the 2nd Amendment.
Now by this time some of you who should’ve already jumped ship on this article (cough*youprogressives*cough) are now saying to yourself, “Gee, but the 2nd Amendment is all about hunting, or about the National Guard or the Military. It has nothing to do with an individual’s right to own a military style weapon.”
Let’s go back in time shall we? To say… Saturday, June 14th, 1788, just months before all of the colonies ratified the Constitution. At this time there was a debate in Virginia about the 2nd Amendment and what it actually entails. Some of the Founders, understanding the importance of equipping every American with their own gun, put forward the idea of having the federal government purchase military firearms and equipment for everyone, even going so far as to suggest everyone needs 2 firearms and 2 sets of equipment at the expense of the government (I kid you not) then allowing the States to elect military officers and train the “militia” in military tactics. Because as the Founders made perfectly clear, the militia IS the people.
You see the Founders feared a standing army. They had far more confidence in their neighbor’s motives in owning a firearm rather than a bunch of paid soldiers who were under the orders of some large centralized power. European history is full of examples where armies were organized by kings or emperors that ran roughshod over a country after their king or emperor had no further use for them, or could no longer pay them. Therefore the Founders wanted to make sure that the People were not only armed but trained as well. Every person.
Because as our Founding Father George Mason so eloquently stated that hot day in June so long ago: “…to disarm the people; that it was the best and most effectual way to enslave them,“.
Hence the birth of the 2nd Amendment. And that’s why the Founders actually meant when they intentionally and carefully wrote: “…the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” It doesn’t say, “can be infringed if there are mass shootings” or “can be infringed if some people use them to commit crimes” or “can be infringed if you’re on some list or declared crazy by the state”, no it states very, very clearly, Shall Not Be Infringed (shall not be changed, impeded, altered, or restricted if you don’t know what infringed means). Period.
So when someone calls for “common sense gun laws”, or any gun laws for that matter, what they are really saying is they want to remove your ability to defend your liberty, and this nation, from all threats foreign and domestic. Which is why to make such a request is as un-American as Communism. The two things just don’t mix. So when a politician, or someone else, tells you that you don’t need a gun. Trust me, you need a gun. Probably two. Most likely more.
Again if you don’t agree, or fail to understand the importance of the 2nd Amendment then… you might be able to catch that boat to Europe with those who bailed on this article earlier. I’m sure they’ll love to make room for you. Besides, I hear misery loves company. And slavery is miserable, or so I hear.
With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility
“[O]nly a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”- Benjamin Franklin
“Give up money, give up fame, give up science, give the earth itself and all it contains rather than do an immoral act. And never suppose that in any possible situation, or under any circumstances, it is best for you to do a dishonorable thing, however slightly so it may appear to you. Whenever you are to do a thing, though it can never be known but to yourself, ask yourself how you would act were all the world looking at you, and act accordingly. Encourage all your virtuous dispositions, and exercise them whenever an opportunity arises, being assured that they will gain strength by exercise, as a limb of the body does, and that exercise will make them habitual. From the practice of the purest virtue, you may be assured you will derive the most sublime comforts in every moment of life, and in the moment of death.” – Thomas Jefferson
“The only foundation for a useful education in a republic is to be laid in religion. Without this there can be no virtue, and without virtue there can be no liberty, and liberty is the object and life of all republican governments.”– Benjamin Rush Signer of the Declaration of Independence
“[T]he [federal] government . . . can never be in danger of degenerating into a monarchy, and oligarchy, an aristocracy, or any other despotic or oppressive form so long as there shall remain any virtue in the body of the people.”- George Washington
“[N]either the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.”-Samuel Adams
“[I]t is religion and morality alone which can establish the principles upon which freedom can securely stand. The only foundation of a free constitution is pure virtue.”- John Adams
It should now be obvious to you that the Founders understood what most Americans today do not. With great power and freedom comes great responsibility. A huge part of that responsibility calls on the American people to be good and virtuous. That means the America people MUST learn to regulate themselves or their bad behavior WILL invite the government to regulate it for them. The main way the Founders saw to accomplish that goal was through Religion. But not just any Religion. The majority of the Founding Fathers, and the American colonists, were of the Episcopal Church. A Christian based religion. The rest of the Founders, and the people, were separated into Catholics, Lutherans, Quakers, Presbyterians, Congregationalists, Mehodists, etc. But contrary to President Obama’s claims, Islam had absolutely no influence upon America’s founding.
While the Founders did not want a theocracy or a central church (they did not want to reinvent the Church of England on a Federal level, but many states did adopt official state religions) they understood that the teachings of Christ were almost tailor maid for creating a free and prosperous society. Thou shall not kill, steal, covet thy neighbor’s wife, and the rest of the Commandments are perfect for creating a good and virtuous people. But the people themselves, wanting to sustain their liberty, must understand the importance of following such a way of life. If the people fail in this responsibility a “free” country quickly falls into tyranny, or at best, evil anarchy (like mass shootings) and eventually ruin. Without a majority of the American people willing to embrace virtue, peaceful liberty will not stand. The Founders knew this. Even the political left knows this. Which is one more reason why Progressivism is the major problem in America today.
Progressivism, Just Another Face For Evil
Let’s get something straight. Progressives are not liberals. They are in every essence the most radical far left anyone can become in politics. Essentially they are Communists (for a lack of a better word). Totalitarians. Their goal is to destroy free-market capitalism and individual liberty (even though they claim otherwise) and replace it with Socialism.
Because Socialism leads eventually to Communism. And Communism means they will have total control over everything. Businesses, government, schools, even food distribution. Everything.
Now if you don’t know what Communism is, then I suggest you figuratively slap your public school teacher in the face and watch these series of videos. They document the history, and the horrors, of the Communist Soviet Union. If you thought the Nazis were bad for murdering millions of Jews (and rightly so), well the Communists make the Nazis look like amateurs when it comes to executing large numbers of people. As this little snip-it from the video series demonstrates:
“Hands tied behind the back. An expertly aimed shot in the neck. And a fall into a huge mass grave. These people were not killed by the Nazis. They were killed by one of the Allies: The Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union was killing people in this way for many years. Both before and after it joined the Allies. These victims have no memorials. They were buried in anonymous mass graves. …The memory of millions of innocent victims was erased, from history.
The youth throughout the world likes to makes jokes using popular symbols of the past. While a Nazi swaztika is considered to be a bad joke, Soviet symbols are not.
Communism, after all, was not Nazism. It was about equality and harmony. There was nothing wrong with the idea itself. Well, actually, there was.
There was something which made it different than the other utopias. Lenin believed in what he called The War Of Classes. Which meant that the ultimate harmony can only be reached after certain groups of people are killed.
Initially when Communists come into power, and it doesn’t matter where, be it in Russia, in Poland, in Cuba, In Nicaragua, it doesn’t matter. In China. Initially they destroy about 10% of the population. And that’s very specific. This is used, not just to kill enemies, they aren’t all enemies, it’s to restructure the fabric of society. It’s social engineering. Top intellectuals, the best workers, the best engineers, they’ll kill them all. And then they’ll try to restructure the new society.
‘Hang at least 100 Kulakus. Execute the hostages. Do it in such a way people from hundreds of miles around will see it and tremble.’ – Lenin
In 1917 the Communists seized power. Lenin now had a chance to apply Marxism to real life.
Those who resisted were shot. There were terrible massacres against resisting peasants. And nobody knows exactly how many people died. We’re talking about 10 million or more.”
Don’t think politicians here in America subscribe to this kind of Progressivism?
Socialist Presidential Candidate and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders honeymooned in the Soviet Union in 1988. To add insult to injury, President Obama even appointed avowed Communist Van Jones to be his Green Jobs Czar. Van Jones didn’t hide who he is and what he believes. The President picked him solely because Jones’s vision aligned with his own. Because the future Van Jones was looking to create is the same one the President of the United States is looking to create. Oh, by the way…Van Jones lamented the fall of the Soviet Union.
If that thought doesn’t keep you awake at night, you might want to check for a pulse. Because the thought that an American President is actually striving for a “Progressive” future is a terrifying thought indeed.
Also, in case you didn’t realize it, Eugenics was spawned here in the United States by the Progressive movement. Eugenics was a nation wide effort to “purge society’s gene pool of undesired traits”(sound familiar doesn’t it?). This led to mandatory mass sterilizations of the disabled in over 30 states. It was even taught in schools and universities as “settled science”. Abortion was born from the Eugenics movement as a way to purge America of the “inferior races”, a term used by Progressives for the black American population. Eventually, America’s concept of Eugenics migrated to Germany pre-World War II where it helped influence the Nazi concept of a ‘Master Race’ and the ‘purging’ of the inferior races. We now know the results of this influence as the Holocaust.
You see, it’s not the guns that are a problem in America today. A gun in the hand of a good and virtuous person is not a danger to anyone but the wicked. The reason we are having problems in America is because the American people are no longer good and virtuous. They no longer seem to care about right and wrong. They most likely no longer know what real good and evil is if even if it bit them on the ass.
Because thanks to Progressives, who have taken over the education system and the culture in this country (combined with a lazy American populace who would rather sit on their ass than get involved), the American people are no longer taught the importance of liberty and how its defense is connected to virtue. Instead, Progressives have brainwashed Americans into believing they don’t need virtue. They don’t need right and wrong. What they need is more government to fix their problems for them. More government to steal from their neighbor so that it can be redistributed to others. They are told that what’s virtuous is what the government decides is virtuous. What’s good for them is what the government decides is good for them. Progressives are turning the American people into lazy, unarmed (if they have their way), amoral slaves who are victims waiting to happen. This is NOT the American way!
The Progressive teachings are at war with, in fact the polar opposite of, what the Founders truly intended. Which was a government designed to create a truly free, safe, and prosperous society. Because of this fact, an American Progressive society can not be sustained utilizing the American Constitution as its base. The American Constitution must be altered, removed, or ignored in order for a truly Progressive society to exist in this country. This is why Progressives are always looking for excuses to undermine the 2nd Amendment and looking to bypass Congress either through the courts or by Executive Ordering things into existence. They are doing all of this because our Founding document sets up a system which gives you, the individual, the power to defend your liberty. And if they are to achieve their ultimate goals, a Progressive utopia, those who disagree with them can not be allowed the tools and training they need to resist them.
This is why America has a Progressive problem.
This is why Progressivism must be stopped.
In Conclusion…What to do now.
If you’re still reading this, I’m flattered. But you’re probably asking yourself, “So what do we do now?”
Well to answer that properly I would need to write a book. But for the sake of trying to keep this post short (too late), allow me to be blunt.
Be a Good and Virtuous American.
Seriously. If you want to restore this nation to its former glory, a nation that embraces and defends individual liberty, then you must answer the Founder’s call and take part in the responsibility for it and that means being good and virtuous. Granted, a part of that responsibility is to get involved in politics and to teach future generations about the importance of this nation and its founding and stand up publicly for everything good and virtuous, but that sort of goes without saying. If you become a good and virtuous American, and by your example and teachings help others to do the same, the Progressive movement will eventually be snuffed out because it can not survive in such an environment.
Besides, even if you are heavily armed, well trained, and prepared to utilize the 2nd Amendment (which as an American it is your duty to do so), but lack the proper morals to know when to use them, what’s the point? Really? If you lack the proper moral base to help create the free and peaceful society envisioned by the Founders and enshrined in the Constitution you’re just as big a problem as the Progressive movement. Will and force of arms alone is not enough to restore this nation, virtue is imperative as well.
You now understand (I hope) that America clearly doesn’t have a gun problem. It has a virtue problem perpetuated by a disease known as Progressivism.
Which means the survival of this once great nation is laid squarely in the good and virtuous hands of the American people.
So may we ask God to Bless America. Because Heaven only knows, we need it.
